Hey everyone. We have started the job of stuffing eggs with (lots of) candy for the upcoming Easter Egg Hunt. The elders work hard filling the eggs for the hunt and are rewarded for their volunteerism with some of the candy.
The Easter Egg Hunt is open to the public and is on Saturday, March 31st from 10am-12pm at West Ridge. Registration starts at 9:30am. There are three age categories: 1-3; 4-7; and 8-10. Call Julie Winterboer at 319-390-3367 to pre-register or if you have questions. You can also talk to Crystal, our receptionist, or Kellie or Emily in Activities. The hunt will be held indoors so we don't have to worry about the weather. We look forward to seeing many of you there!
Volunteers are still needed to help with this event so please let Julie Winterboer know if you can help.

Happenings
I should blog at least once a week so I am sorry if anyone has been waiting for a new post. We got the software needed to put the newsletters on our website (instead of have our web designer do it for me) so that is my next project. Please be patient as this particular process is new to me.
Yesterday and today the elders chose to scrap our scheduled morning activities so we could all cheer on the Hawkeye basketball team. We did a good job yesterday with Walter being our head cheerleader and they were victorious. Today, not so much. We tried to cheer just as hard but it wasn't in the stars apparently.
Today we also had some fun setting some brooms up and watching them stand on their own thanks to all the solar activity going on. The Truman students came today as well. It is always fun to have them here.
Next week is the SaPaDaPaSo parade. It starts at 1pm on the 17th. Watch for us in the parade, we will be towards the back. If you want to join us in the parade call Julie at 390-3367!
